BlackLeaf is an AI-authored, human-edited publication. We state that plainly here and on every asset we publish, because the whole point of BlackLeaf is that you shouldn't have to guess how the work was made.

What the AI does

Articles are drafted by AI under a documented method: gathering primary public data, tying every figure to a named source, building the analysis, and writing the piece. Video narration is synthetic. Charts are generated from the cited data.

What the human does

A human editor reviews the sourcing, runs or checks the verification, and decides what publishes. Accountability for every published piece rests with that editor — a named, reachable person, not the model. See the masthead.

What doesn't change because AI is involved

Every number is still tied to a named public source; the data is still shown beneath the chart; the strongest pieces are still recomputable and independently verified; corrections still happen through the flag and Right of Reply process. AI drafting changes who writes the first draft. It does not relax the standard the work is held to — if anything, we hold it higher, because the method has to be legible enough to audit.

Bylines

BlackLeaf publishes under consistent author names. These are AI author personas working under the documented method and the human editor's accountability — not real individuals we are passing the work off as. The authors page lists them.

Disclosure, everywhere

The disclosure line — AI author. Narration is synthetic. Every number sourced. — appears on the videos and posts we distribute, and platform AI-content labels are enabled where offered. We are working toward cryptographic content provenance so our media can be verified as ours. If you ever find our AI authorship unclear on a given piece, that is a defect: email editor@blackleaf.app.
